Gina Velosky
Gina comes to MAIP with a career spanning nearly 20 years leading development, cause marketing, and communications departments in prominent DC based non-profits. Notably, she spent a decade at the Association of Zoos and Aquariums as the head of the org’s development and integrated marketing pillar. Her hallmark lies in translating strategic visions into cohesive, cooperative, and revenue-generating programs that champion and sustain the strategic objectives across departments.
A graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Minor in Criminal Justice, Gina furthered her education at Mount St. Mary’s University in Maryland, attaining an MBA with a specialization in Marketing and Strategic Analysis. In 2021, she achieved a Certification in Professional Fundraising from Boston University.
Gina is passionate about animal rights, human rights and criminal justice reform and her focus at MAIP is highlighting and amplifying the stories of those who have been wrongfully convicted and the impact on their lives and families.
Hailing from New Hampshire, Gina enjoys hiking, horseback riding, furniture refinishing, old blues, jazz and bluegrass music, and gardening. She loves all animals and has two rescued dogs, two rescued parrots, is a beekeeper, and serves on the board of a mid-Atlantic dog rescue org. Gina resides in the DMV area with her husband amidst a lively menagerie of animals.
